Just interpreting some analyses with Metrics@Work – an organization specializing in conducting evidence-based engagement surveys – trying to better understand the story behind the data from hundreds of organizations. We tested a few hypothesis, one being that recognition is a statistically significant variable contributing to employee engagement. And…we were right!
One of the key ways organizations show they value employees is through meaningful recognition; over 40% of the variation in engagement scores can be attributed to a single driver – individual rewards and recognition – that is HUGE for a regression analysis! So, in other words, coworkers, leaders and organizations focusing their energy on providing consistent, meaningful, person-specific recognition is one key strategy for increasing engagement and satisfaction. Now that’s what I call worth the effort!!!
